Use of This Website

By using this website, you agree to:

  • use it only for lawful purposes;

  • not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;

  • not deliberately interfere with the operation or security of the website; and

  • not copy, reproduce or distribute original website content without permission, except where permitted by law.

I may update, modify or remove website content when necessary.

Information About Counselling

Information on this website is provided to help you understand counselling, how I work and the services I offer.

Website content is for general information and should not be treated as personalised counselling, medical advice, diagnosis or emergency mental health support.

Counselling is a talking therapy that can provide an opportunity to explore issues that are important to you and support wellbeing, self-development, growth and greater awareness of your choices.

Counselling Services

Submitting an enquiry, sending an email, completing a contact form, or using an online booking system does not, by itself, establish a therapeutic relationship.

If we agree to work together, the counselling relationship will be subject to a separate therapeutic agreement covering matters such as:

  • confidentiality;

  • safeguarding;

  • session arrangements;

  • fees and payment;

  • cancellations;

  • professional boundaries;

  • data protection; and

  • ending therapy.

Where applicable, the terms agreed as part of our therapeutic work will take precedence over general information provided on this website in relation to your counselling sessions.

Sessions and Fees

Counselling sessions are 50 minutes long, with the frequency and number of sessions agreed between us.

The current standard fee is £60 per session.

At least 48 hours' notice is required when cancelling a session.

The current cancellation arrangements are:

  • More than 48 hours' notice = no cancellation fee

  • 24–48 hours' notice = 50% of the session fee

  • Less than 24 hours' notice = 100% of the session fee

Full arrangements will be explained and agreed upon as part of our therapeutic work.

Face-to-Face, Online and Telephone Counselling

Face-to-face sessions are available from my therapy room in Hove.

If you would like to move to online or telephone sessions, we can explore these options together and consider whether they are appropriate for our work.

Enquiries and Contact

You are welcome to contact me using the contact details provided on this website.

I aim to respond as soon as I reasonably can, but I cannot guarantee an immediate response.

Please do not use social media to contact me about counselling, appointments or confidential therapeutic matters.

Emergency and Crisis Support

Josie Therapy is not an emergency or crisis service.

Emails, telephone messages, contact forms and booking systems should not be used when you require an immediate response.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger or experiencing a crisis, please contact an appropriate emergency or urgent support service rather than waiting for my response.

Emergency and crisis support information is available on this website.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is an important part of counselling.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within its ethical framework.

There are limited circumstances in which confidentiality may need to be broken, including where there is a serious risk of harm, safeguarding concerns or where disclosure is required by law.

Wherever possible, I will aim to discuss this with you first.

Detailed confidentiality arrangements will be explained as part of the therapeutic agreement.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the original text, branding, graphics, design and other original content on this website belong to Josie Therapy or are used with appropriate permission.

You may access the website for your own personal and non-commercial use.

You may not, without permission:

  • reproduce or republish substantial parts of the website;

  • sell or commercially exploit website content;

  • present original Josie Therapy content as your own;

  • reproduce the Josie Therapy logo or branding; or

  • use the website or its content in a misleading way.

Nothing in these terms restricts uses permitted by law.
